Expertise

VEGA MAYOR has recognized experience leading different research projects related to fresh-cut safety issues, particularly in disinfection of process water, sanitation of fresh-cut fruit and vegetables and packaging. As they possess they own crop fields and also obtain part of the production from other farmers they will be an important intermediary for the data collection regarding production, processing, marketing and distribution of ready-to-eat horticultural products.

Tasks in the Project

Vega Major will act as industrial partner in VEG-i-TRADE. It will help with the data collection regarding production and processing of fresh produce destined for fresh-cut produce. Also in WP4 regarding post harvest conditions experiments will be conducted. In WP3 and 6 the situation of VM will be measured in VEG-i-TRADE. WP7 will validate the risk based sampling plan in VM.
